Hoping this is just some offseason ritual/mojo...
My GF thinks he looks better sans beard. Then again, she's a Halo fan, so what does she know...
Maybe Beardus wanted to show us that he is one of us and that he is with us. Much like when Jesus washed the feet of his disiples to show humility, so too does Beardus.
